• LXE VX7, Set Date and Time Zone Set Date and Time Zone Start | Settings | Control Panel | Date/Time icon Set Date, Time, Time Zone, and assign a Daylight Savings location on the VX7 after a warm boot or anytime. There is very little functional change from standard desktop PC Date/Time Properties options. Adjust the settings and tap the OK button or the Apply button to save changes to the registry. Any changes take effect immediately. Double-tapping the time displayed in the Taskbar causes the Date/Time Properties screen to appear. • LXE VX7, Reboot Reboot When the Windows CE desktop is displayed or an application begins, the power up (or reboot) sequence is complete. Warm Boot Start | Run The Warm Boot function refreshes the Windows operating system without clearing RAM or deleting installed programs. User- set parameters are unchanged. Tap Start | Run and type WARMBOOT.EXE or WARMBOOT. This command is not case-sensitive. 1 Tap the OK button. This process takes less than 15 seconds. Temporary data not saved is lost. Note: There may be slight delays while the wireless client connects to the network, re-authorization for voice-enabled applications completes, Wavelink Avalanche management of the VX7 startup completes, or

• LXE VX7, Connecting Vehicle Power Connecting Vehicle Power Complete vehicle cradle mounting and power instruction is contained in the VX7 Cradle Guide. Vehicle 12-80 VDC Power Connection Cable Caution: For proper and safe installation, the input power cable must be connected to a fused circuit on the vehicle. This fused circuit requires a ten Amp maximum time delay (slow blow) high interrupting rating fuse. If the supply connection is made directly to the battery, the fuse should be installed in the positive lead within 5 inches of the battery positive (+) terminal. • LXE VX7, Cleaning the Touchscreen and Scanner Aperture Cleaning the Touchscreen and Scanner Aperture Note: These instructions are for components made of glass. If there is a removable protective film sheet on the display, remove the film sheet before cleaning the screen. Keep fingers and rough or sharp objects away from the scanning aperture and the mobile device touchscreen. • LXE VX7, Connecting a Tethered Scanner Connecting a Tethered Scanner Prerequisite: Pin 9 of COM1 must be configured to provide +5V. The scanner cable is attached to the connector labeled “COM1/SCANNER”. The tethered scanner receives power from the VX7. The cable requires a nine-pin D-shell female connector for the VX7. Note: Use of a shielded cable is required to maintain FCC and CISPR22 emissions compliance. 1. Power off the VX7 before connecting the scanner cable to the VX7. 2.
