• Acura 2009 CR-V, Navigation System 13 Getting Started Using the Voice Control System You should use the voice control system as much as possible, and consider manual entry using the joystick as a backup method of entry. Most of the system’s functions can be controlled by voice commands activated with the NAVI TALK button. To control your navigation system by voice: • Press and release the NAVI TALK button. • Wait for the beep. • Give a voice command. Once the microphone picks up your command, the system changes the display in response to the command and prompts you for the next command. Using the NAVI TALK button, answer the pro

Just say what is written on the screen (this excludes keyboard letters, and listed items) Next (or “Down”) Previous (or “Up”) Return OK (except at Disclaimer screen) Delete Done On-Screen Commands Assist Say or touch the desired letter. Once you select a place, the system then displays the Calculate route to screen (see Driving to Your Destination on page 44). Finding the Place by Name The Name option allows you to enter the name of a business, and then shows you a list of businesses with the same or similar names to select from. After you select Address Book from the Enter destination by screen, the display changes to: If an Address Book PIN has been set in Setup, the system prompts you to enter your PIN after you select User 1 or User 2. Say or enter your PIN, and say or select Done. If the PIN has not been entered, the system displays the list after you select User 1 or User 2. Verify the following: The display mode in Setup is set to Auto, the dash brightness is not set to maximum (must adjust with headlights on), and Map Color in Setup is set to Black for Night. Make sure there is nothing on the dashboard blocking the GPS antenna (aftermarket metallic window tinting or aftermarket devices placed on the dashboard, like radar detectors, cell phones, or loose items). Before selecting OK to calculate a route, you can change the routing method by using the CHANGE METHOD scroll bar back ( ) or forward ( ) buttons. The route choices will appear in the address box. You make this choice in Setup screen (second). The next few pages contain an example of a route to a destination in an unverified area explaining the routing differences found in unverified areas. With Unverified Area Routing Off, the system tries to use verified roads whenever possible. In this example, since only verified streets are used, it created a longer route than necessary. With Unverified Area Routing On, the route is shorter, but consists of unver
