  • MTW Create, Tightening the belts Tightening the belts 1. To tighten the Y belt, loosen the two button head screws, turn the motor down to the desired tightness, and tighten the screws. 2. Test the belt, if you get the low bass note, trim the belt leaving at least 40mm of the belt. 3. To tighten the X belt, loosen the four button head screws, push the motor toward the back to the desired tightness, and tighten the screws. The gauge the belt tightness, pluck it like a guitar string. If you get a thud, the belt is loose, if you get a high note its too tight. If the Z height is to high ( ie poor adhesion to the glass or the filament being dragged behind the nozzle like a piece of thread ) then change the G92 Zx.xx number to a larger value. Increase the value slowly .05mm at a time until your Z height is good. If the Z height is too low ( filament extruded on the glass looks like a smear and the extruder is making a thumping noise ) then make the value of your G92 Zx.xx value smaller. You are looking for your first layer to be squished close to the picture shown below. The picture has two perimeter skirt lines drawn around the object.
