  • Digital Equipment Corporation DEClaser 5100, 4.2 Printing From MS–DOS To print PostScript files from MS–DOS, you normally use the PRINT feature of an MS–DOS application. Consult your application’s documentation for more specific information about using its particular print feature. You can also print PostScript or PCL files from the MS–DOS command line, using either COPY or PRINT commands. NOTE The automatic language sensing capability of the DEClaser 5100 printer allows you to send files with different data formats (PostScript or PCL) for printing. You might want to set the Interpreter feature in the Communications menu to Automatic (

There are two areas where this can happen: 1. Where the paper enters the fusing unit (Section 9.4.1) 2. The first method uses the File Menu and is similar to printing from your application. The second method uses the mouse to ‘‘drag and drop’’ the file over to the Print Manager. Using the File Menu To print from the File Menu: 1. Open the File Manager in the Main Group. 2. Select the file you want to print by clicking on it. 3. Pull down the File menu and select Print... to open the print dialog box. 4. Once the print dialog box opens you can change printing parmeters or you can just click on
