The retractor for the rear centre seat belt is located in the roof. To fasten the seat belt: 1. Pull the belt out steadily. It may lock if you pull it sharply or if the vehicle is on a slope. 2. Insert the smaller tongue into the black buckle to the right of the centre seat. 3. Pull the larger tongue across the lap and insert it into the buckle to the left of the centre seat. G
Ford GALAXY, Locking buttons are located on each of the front doors and the liftgate. Press a locking button once. Unlocking Your Vehicle Pull one of the door handles or press the button to open the liftgate. Note: A valid passive key must be located within the detection range of that door. Ford GALAXY, CHANGING THE WIPER BLADES Windscreen wiper blades Switch off the ignition and move the wiper lever to position A within three seconds. Release the lever when the windscreen wipers have moved to the service position. POWER WINDOWS Resetting the memory of the electric windows After the battery has been disconnected from the vehicle you must reset the memory separately for each window: 1. Lift the switch until the window is fully closed. Hold the switch lifted for one more second. 2. Release the switch and lift it again, two or three times, for one more second. 3. Open the window and try to close it automatically. 4. Reset and repeat procedure
Ford GALAXY, BLIND SPOT MONITOR Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) The system is a convenience feature that assists you to detect vehicles that may have entered your blind spot zones (A). The detection area is on both sides of your vehicle extending rearward from the exterior mirrors to approximately 10 ft (3 m) beyond the rear of your vehicle. The system will alert you if certain vehicles enter your blind spot zones while driving. Using the System The system displays a yellow indicator located in the exterior mirrors. Ford GALAXY, TRIP COMPUTER Distance to empty Indicates the approximate distance the vehicle will travel on the fuel remaining in the tank. Changes in driving pattern may cause the value to vary. INFORMATION MESSAGES Press the OK button to acknowledge and remove some messages from the information display. Other messages will be removed automatically after a short time. Certain messages need to be confirmed before you can access the menus. Message indicator The message indicator illuminates to supplement some messages. It will be red or amber depending on the severity of the message and will remain on until the cause of the message has been rectified. Some message
Ford GALAXY, AUXILIARY HEATER Parking heater Note: The parking heater will only operate if there is at least 7.5 litres (1.6 gallons) of fuel in the fuel tank and the ambient temperature is below 15°C (59°F). The heater will not operate if the battery is low. You can switch the system on and off using the information display. Remote starting Starting Hold the transmitter with the antenna upwards and press the ON button for at least two seconds. HEAD RESTRAINTS Note: Third row seat head restraints have restricted height adjustment. REAR SEATS Second Row Seats Folding the Seatbacks Down 1. Lower the head restrain
5. On the centre seat, pull the loop between the seat cushion and the seatback and fold down the seatback. 6. To engage the seatbacks in the folded position, pull the lever or loop again and push the seatback firmly down until it latches into position. To return the seat to the seating position, pull the lever or loop and fold the seatback up until it engages. Third Row Seat
Ford GALAXY, Up to four different driver's seat and exterior mirror positions can be stored in the memory. Your preferred setting for the reverse mirror dipping feature can also be stored. Setting a memory pre-set Passive setting The vehicle stores the seating and mirror positions for up to four remote controls or passive keys. Next time the vehicle is unlocked, the position of the seat and mirrors will adjust to the last used position. Each time you turn the ignition off, the current seat and mirror settings are stored on the remote control or passive key used. Active setting 1. Turn the ignition on. 2. Make sure the transmission is in P or N. 2. Fully depress the brake pedal. 3. Press the start button. Ford GALAXY, Anticipation Adjusting your vehicle speed and the distance to other vehicles without the need for heavy braking or acceleration will improve fuel consumption. Efficient speed Higher speeds use more fuel. Reducing your cruising speed on open roads will improve fuel consumption. Ford GALAXY, FUEL CONSUMPTION The following will help to improve fuel consumption. Tyre Pressures Check your tyre pressures regularly. Gear Shifting Use the highest gear appropriate for the road conditions. Anticipation Adjust your vehicle speed and the distance to other vehicles without the need for heavy braking or acceleration. Efficient Speed Higher speeds use more fuel. Reduce your cruising speed on open roads. ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE The electric parking brake (EPB) replaces the conventional handbrake. Ford GALAXY, USING CRUISE CONTROL Switching Cruise Control On and Off Setting a Speed Press the SET+ switch or the SET- switch to store and maintain your current speed. The cruise control indicator will illuminate. Changing the Set Speed Press the SET+ switch to accelerate or the SET- switch to decelerate. Cancelling the Set Speed Press the brake pedal or press the CAN switch. Resuming the Set Speed Press the RES switch to resume the speed that you previously set. Ford GALAXY, The status bar will travel from left to right as the calculated alertness level decreases. • Green - No rest required. • Yellow - First (temporary) warning. • Red - Second warning. LANE DEPARTURE WARNING The system will automatically detect and track the lane markings on the road. If it detects that the vehicle is unintentionally drifting towards the lane boundaries then a visual warning will be displayed in the information display.
