• Fujitsu ASTB24LDC, 2 FEATURES AND FUNCTIONS INVERTER At the start of operation, a large power is used to bring the room quickly to the desired temperature. Afterwards, the unit automatically switches to a low power setting for eco- nomic and comfortable operation. COIL DRY OPERATION The Indoor unit can be dried by pressing the COIL DRY but- ton on the Remote Control Unit so as to avoid going moldy and restrain the breed of bacterium. AUTO CHANGEOVER The operation mode (cooling, dry, heating) is switched au- tomatically to maintain the set temperature, and the tem- perature is kept constant at all times. PROGRAM TIMER The program timer allows you to integrate OFF timer and ON

• Fujitsu ASTB24LDC, 5 PREPARATION CAUTION! ● Take care to prevent infants from accidentally swallowing batteries. ● When not using the Remote Control Unit for an extended period, remove the batteries to avoid possible leakage and damage to the unit. ● If leaking battery fluid comes in contact with your skin, eyes, or mouth, immedi- ately wash with copious amounts of water, and consult your physician. ● Dead batteries should be removed immediately and disposed of properly, either in a battery collection receptacle or to the appropriate authority. ● Do not attempt to recharge dry batteries. • Fujitsu ASTB24LDC, 6 To Select Mode Operation 1 Press the START/STOP button (Fig.6 S). The indoor unit’s OPERATION Indicator Lamp (red) (Fig. 3 5) will light. The air conditioner will start operating. 2 Press the MASTER CONTROL button (Fig.6 K) to se- lect the desired mode. Each time the button is pressed, the mode will change in the following order. AUTO COOL DRY HEAT FAN About three seconds later, the entire display will reappear. • Fujitsu ASTB24LDC, 7 To Stop Operation Press the START/STOP button (Fig. 6 S). The OPERATION Indicator Lamp (red) (Fig. 3 5) will go out. About AUTO CHANGEOVER Operation AUTO: ● When AUTO CHANGEOVER operation first selected, the fan will oper- ate at very low speed for about one minute, during which time the unit detects the room conditions and selects the proper operating mode. • Fujitsu ASTB24LDC, 8 2 Press the AIR CLEAN button (Fig. 6 L). The AIR CLEAN Indicator Lamp (orange) (Fig. 3 7) will light up. ● Air conditioning and Air Cleaning will function simultaneously. Air cleaning ● During operation, the unit produces a small amount of ozone that can be smelled. ● When this unit is used in combination with the ultrasonic humidifier, white parti- cles may become attached to the plasma filter unit. If this happens, clean the plasma filter unit as soon as possible. (Refer to page 14, 15.) ● The air cleaning operation cannot remove gases such as carbon monoxide and al

• Fujitsu ASTB24LDC, 9 TIMER OPERATION s Before using the timer function, be sure that the Remote Control Unit is set to the correct current time (☞ P. 4). To Use the ON timer or OFF timer 1 Press the START/STOP button (Fig. 6 S) (if the unit is already operating, proceed to step 2). The indoor unit’s OPERATION Indicator Lamp (red) (Fig. 3 5 ) will light. 2 Press the TIMER MODE button (Fig. 6 P) to select the OFF timer or ON timer operation. Each time the button is pressed the timer function changes in the follow- ing order: CANCEL OFF ON PROGRAM(OFF → ON, OFF ← ON) T

• 10 SLEEP TIMER OPERATION Unlike other timer functions, the SLEEP timer is used to set the length of time until air conditioner operate is stopped. To Use the SLEEP Timer While the air conditioner is operating or stopped, press the SLEEP button (Fig. 6 J). Each time the SWING button is pressed, the swing operation will change in the following order. To stop SWING Operation Press the SWING button and select STOP. Airflow direction will return to the setting before swing was begun. SWING OPERATION COIL DRY OPERATION The Indoor unit can be dried by pressing the COIL DRY button on the Remote Control Unit so as to avoid going moldy and restrain the breed of bacterium. Remove the Intake Grille. 1 Place your fingers at both lower ends of the grille panel, and lift forward; if the grille seems to catch partway through its movement, continue lifting up- ward to remove. 2 Pull past the intermediate catch and open the Intake Grille wide so that it become horizontal. 2. Clean with water. Remove dust with a vacuum cleaner; wipe the unit with warm water, then dry with a clean, soft cloth. 3. • 14 CLEANING THE PLASMA AIR CLEANING FILTER CAUTION! WARNING! ● Make sure the plasma filter unit is properly mounted before cleaning or performing other tasks on it. If the unit is not properly mounted, it could fall off and cause damage or injury. ● You can be injured if you touch the heat exchanger when removing or installing the plasma filter unit. Do not

(Please carry out maintenance on the filter every 6 months.) 1. Open the intake grille and remove the air filter from the right side. ● Please consult step 1 of cleaning the air filter on page 12. 2. Take out the unit and remove the Air- cleaning and Deodorizing filter. ● Please consult steps 2 and 3 of cleaning the air filter on page 13. 3.
