  • Panasonic KARAOKE MATE 32-1158, 2 FEATURES Your Optimus Karaoke Mate lets you be the “star” as you sing along with your favorite recordings. To hear your voice along with the music through a speaker, simply connect the karaoke between an external music source (such as a CD player) and your ampli- fier/receiver. The vocal canceller reduces the vol- ume of the recording’s voice, so you hear your own voice as you sing with the music. It works with stereo record- ings so there are no special karaoke tapes to buy. And, the karaoke is de- signed so you can take it almost ev- erywhere!   • Panasonic KARAOKE MATE 32-1158, 4 CONNECTIONS CONNECTING POWER You can power your karaoke with: • 6 C batteries • AC power Installing Batteries You can power the karaoke with 6 C batteries (not supplied). For the best performance, we recommend alkaline batteries, such as RadioShack Cat. No. 23-551. Follow these steps to install the batter- ies. 1. Set POWER to OFF . 2. Press down on the battery com- partment cover and slide it in the direction of the arrows to remove it. 3. Install the batteries as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and –) marked inside the compartment. Caution: Always use fresh batter- ies of the req

  • Panasonic KARAOKE MATE 32-1158, 5 Using AC Power To power your karaoke from a stan- dard AC outlet, you need an AC adapter, such as Cat. No. 273-1652. Caution: You must use an AC adapt- er that supplies 12 volts DC power and at least 200 milliamps. Its center tip must be set to positive and it must have a plug that properly fits the DC 12V jack. The recommended adapter meets these specifications. Using an adapter that does not meet these specifications could damage your karaoke or the AC adapter. Use the white plug for the left connec- tion and the red plug for the right con- nection at both ends of the cable. Note: When you are not using the karaoke, set POWER to OFF . The sound from the audio source passes through the karaoke to the amplifier/ receiver unaffected. CONNECTING MICROPHONES You can use the supplied microphone to sing along. Adjust ECHO between MIN and MAX for the desired effect. Voice Cancel — While you play the audio source, set POWER to VOCAL CANCEL to reduce the prerecorded voice’s volume.
