SELECT RECORDING CHANNEL 3 Press CH +/–. Or press the appropriate NUMBER keys, then press ENTER. (The channel changes after a few seconds whether you press ENTER or not.) SET TAPE SPEED 4 Press SP/LP to set the recording speed. START RECORDING 5 Press and hold REC and press PLAY on the remote control, or press REC on the VCR's front panel. Or, when viewing a pre-recorded tape that contains two separate Hi-Fi audio programs, you can choose to listen to either one by selecting either "Hi-Fi L" or "Hi-Fi R". NOTE: If the tape being played back has no Hi-Fi soundtrack, the Normal soundtrack will be heard no matter what choice you make. You can select the so

• JVC HR-DVS2U, EN 49 Instant Timer Recording (ITR) This easy method lets you record from 30 minutes to 6 hours (VHS) or to 120 minutes (DV) (selectable in 30-min. increments) and shuts the VCR off after recording is finished. The Program Check screen appears and conflicting programmes will start blinking. EX. Programme 1 (you have just made) and Programme 4 overlap each other on the VHS deck. CONFIRM OVERLAPPING PROGRAMMES 1 Overlapping programmes blink on the screen. SELECT PROGRAMME TO MODIFY 2 Press %fi, then press OK or # . ● You can only select one of the overlapping programmes. NOTE: If you do not mind this overlap, press PROG to finish the timer programme setting. See “ATTENTION” to the right. Wi

You can directly program the VCR’s timer to record up to 6 shows each on the VHS and DV decks, as far as a year in advance. Small problems are often easily corrected, and this can save you the trouble of sending your VCR off for repair.
