Pressure build up may make the containers burst and cause injury.  DO NOT use unstable saucepans. Always ensure that you position the handles away from the edge of the hotplate.  Make sure to use adequately sized pans with flat bottoms that are large enough to cover the surface of the hotplate heating area. Using undersized pans will expose a portion of the hotplate surface to direct contact and may result in the ignition of clothing. Never leave the hotplate unatten

It can get very warm, so do not store anything in it that may melt or catch fire. Never store flammable materials in the drawer. This means when using area A on power boost and then switching area B to power boost as well, then area A will have its power slightly reduced.
