• Ford Traffic Pro II, 55 Radio Mode Traffic Program (TP) If an RDBS/RDS diversity station transmits TP announcements, it is possible to have CD, CDC/AUX, AM operation interrupted so that the transmitted TP announcements can be played. You can listen to one FM station while receiving TP announcements from another FM station. There are two ways to select a TP transmitter: automatic tracking and direct programming. Automatic Tracking Automatic tracking always uses the current FM station as the TP station. If the selected FM station

This message indicates that the navigation system is still initializing. The above message will go away after a short time and will be replaced by the warning message shown below. The message will appear each time you select navigation after starting the vehicle. Select one of the following by turning the right knob and pressing it to confirm. • SAVE DESTINATION: Store the entered destination by a name of your choice (or no name). The selection is saved in the destination memory when you confirm the selection (see page 20). • ROUTE SETTINGS: Modify the route type when you confirm this selection. • START-FAST R.or START-SHORT R.: Activate route guidance to the entered destination with consideration of the route settings when you confirm this selection. For more information on these features, refer to them in this section.

Select STREET or CENTER by turning the right knob to select a street or center of town, within the highlighted town, and pressing it to confirm. Enter the name of the town highlighting the letters one by one, by turning the right knob and pressing it to confirm. The selected letter will appear enlarged on the right side of the display and will be added to the highlighted town name on the top row of the display. The display will show the name of the location most similar to the letters

• Ford Traffic Pro II, 7 General Operation Turning the Navigation Unit On and Off Press the button to manually turn the unit on or off. The unit can also be turned on and off using the vehicle’s ignition. The unit will turn off approximately 5 seconds after the vehicle ignition is turned off. The unit can be kept on by pressing the button within 5 seconds of turning off the ignition. If the unit is turned off using the ignition, it will turn on automatically when the ignition is turned back on. The unit will remain off if it is turned off using the button until the button is pressed again. NOTE: The unit can also be turned on while the vehicle’s ignition is off

The display will show the current track time when elapsed time is selected. It will show the clock when time of day is selected. Elapsed time will show for 10 seconds any time the CD track changes. Temperature Protection Circuit The unit is equipped with a temperature protection circuit to protect the laser diode from excessive heat.
