• Cohu HD Series 3930HD, 6 6X-1092B 1.0 Introduction The 3930 HD series camera system is a digital high denition day/night zoom lens camera. The H.264 video standard, which provides sharper image quality at lower bit rates than previous standards, is used for video compression, along with The motion JPEG (M-JPEG) standard. The 3930 HD series camera system is IP (Internet Protocol) based with a full function built-in web server. Operator func- tions, such as zoom, are controlled from the standard Internet browser window. Administrative features, such as conguring networking settings and assigning camera ID labels, can be controlled from the same window as well.

• 7 6X-1092B 1.1 Optional Accessories The following optional accessories are recommended, and can be purchased with the camera system. Mating Connector: • 18-pin MS connector: CohuHD p/n 1310230-011. Before starting installation: • Choose the installation mounting method. See Chapter 3. • Verify that the system cable can be routed to the location of the mounting assembly See Section 3.5 for details on the installation procedure for recommended mounts. 2.1 Power over Ethernet (PoE) The 3930 HD camera system is compliant with the IEEE 802.3at standard. Power to the camera system is supplied through the network cabling. Two types of PoE implementations are specied by the standard: • Endspan P

• Cohu HD Series 3930HD, 10 6X-1092B 2.2 System Cable Requirements To build the camera system cable CohuHD recommends: • For Ethernet/PoE: CAT5e or better cable. For distances up to 100 meters (328 feet), use CAT5e cable with four pairs of copper wire, 24 AWG. • When wiring to the Ethernet pins, consider if they are to be wired for the NIC (Network Interface Card) in a PC or for system connections to a hub, switch, router, or similar device. See Tables 3 and 4. • All Ethernet wiring must be done in accordance with the TIA/EIA 568-C standard. • All system cables must be

View from the front (mating) side (which is identical to the view from the back (wiring) side of the mating connector) 2.4 Rear Plate Connector and Its Mating System Cable Connector A single 18-pin MS (metal) connector on the rear panel provides all electrical connections for the camera system. Figure 3 shows the rear plate connector pin location viewed from the front (mating) side. The view is identical to the back (wiring) side view of the mating connector. Table 6 lists pin functions of the rear plate connector which are identical to the corresponding pin functions of the mating conn

• Cohu HD Series 3930HD, 12 6X-1092B 3.0 Mounting Methods This section is a generic description of typical installations for the mounting assemblies that are an option with the camera system. Each mounting site will likely have its own unique requirements. The 3930 HD can be ordered with any one of four mounting arrangements: 1. CohuHD p/n 7411498-001. Pole mount pedestal bracket with adjust- able head. See Section 3.1. This is a pedestal mount for use on a horizontal pipe or pole. 2. CohuHD p/n 7411498-002. • Cohu HD Series 3930HD, 18 6X-1092B 3.5 Installation Procedure Provisions must be made for routing the system cable up to the camera system location: • Pole mounting: if the cable routes up through the pole, support the cable inside the pole to strain relieve the camera connector. • Pedestal mounting: route the cable down into the pedestal. The cable must be secured by a strain relief within the pedestal and must not be allowed to hang free through the pedestal. • Allow approximately 4-5” clearance behind the camera system for the mating cable. Use the following steps to change a camera IP address before a second camera is added to the subnet. • Set your computer IP address to the same subnet as the camera IP address. IMPORTANT: In order to make changes in camera conguration the user must be logged in as Administra- tor. • Change the camera address. The camera address can be changed manually or through a Dy- namic Host Conguration Protocol (DHCP) server. See Operation Manual 6x-1090. • Click the camera Setup button. • Click the Conguration bu

Click to start it. • The CohuONVIFDiscovery window will be displayed. NOTE: Auto discovery feature uses network multicast packets and may not work through network routers. • Click on the “Start Discovery” button. A list of cameras will be automatically displayed. • Cohu HD Series 3930HD, 24 6X-1092B 4.7 Checkout Procedure When power is applied to the camera system the initialization process begins. All CohuHD cameras initial- ize on power-up using stored default parameters in the camera’s non-volatile memory. The default IP ad- dress assigned to the cameras at the factory is 192.168.2.150. For information on accessing the camera using the Helios Web Interface see Operation Manual 6x-1090. • Cohu HD Series 3930HD, 25 6X-1092B 5.0 Maintenance The system is intended for long-term unattended use, and maintenance requirements are minimal: • Clean exterior as needed. • Clean the front window on the camera head as needed. Use soft nonabrasive cloth, like terry cloth or microber cloth, and a foaming glass cleaner. If present, clean the wiper blade and inspect it. Replace the blade if necessary. • Check pressure periodically. Occasional pressurization of the camera housing may be required. See Section 5.1 for more details. To maintain pressure in the barrel, add dry nitrogen to approximately 5 psi (34 kPa). 5.1.2 Pressure Relief Valve The Pressure Relief Valve limits the maximum pressure in the camera head to approximately 20 psi (138 kPa). CAUTION: Exceeding 20 psi can cause damage to the relief valve. IMPORTANT: Due to high temperature, high altitude, or other reasons, the pressure inside the camera head may increase.
