The Always Ready instant on feature causes a small drain on the battery, even when the printer is not being used. This small drain will cause the printer to report a Battery Low condition in 72 hours or less of non-use. Battery Conditioning The P2242 uses rechargeable Ni-Cad battery packs. By repeatedly charging and only par- tially discharging the battery pack, the overall capacity of the battery will decrease. To restore the batteries full capacity, it should be fully discharged and then trickle charged from time to time.
