GE Security CamPlus 2 GEC-IP2D, 23 SD memory cards Follow these SD memory card guidelines: • To prevent malfunction or damage to card data, turn the camera off before you insert an SD card. • Use the camera to format SD memory cards. If you use an unformatted SD card or an SD card formatted with another device, the camera may not work. • Use Panasonic SD memory cards, since other cards have not been tested and may effect your camera’s performance. • To keep your personal information secure, remove the SD memory card from the camera when you give your camera to someone for repair. • Replace the SD memory card when you have periodic maintenance done on the camera. CamPlus 2 Plastic Dome IP Camera Installation Manual 2 Product overview The CamPlus 2 Plastic Dome IP Camera (Figure 1) is designed to operate from a PC on a network (10BT/ 100B-TX). Once you configure your PC’s network settings and your LAN, you can use a web browser to monitor both video and audio. Note: You must configure the network settings of the PC and its network env

For this connection use LAN cables (CAT5, straight) and use a switching hub or router that is compliant with 10Base-T/100Base-TX. Figure 26. Connect using PoE A power supply is required for each network camera. When you use a PoE device, a 24 VAC/12 VDC power supply is not necessary. See Contacting us on page 29. Before you contact technical support, read the suggestions below: • I cannot turn the power on. For a 24 VAC/12 VDC power supply, make sure the power supply is connected to the power cord terminal. Verify that the cable is firmly connected. Shooting direction adjustment Determine the shooting direction by using the panning table, the tilting table, and the image tilt adjustment ring. Make sure that the exposed wires are completely hidden after tightening the screws (Figure 19). Figure 19. Power cord plug Table 1 shows the power plug terminals and the related wires. d. The camera is not meant for outdoor use. • Do not install the camera in direct heat or in areas of high humidity. To connect the device, do the following: a. Remove 0.12 to 0.28 in. (3 to 7 mm) of the outer jacket of the cable from the external device (AWG #16 to 28 single core, twisted) and twist the core of the power cord to prevent a short circuit (Figure 21). Figure 21. View angle is variable (the varifocal lens is featured). Images will be displayed upside down when the tilting position is adjusted to the minus direction. Connect the provided monitor cable between the monitor-out connector inside the dome cover and the video-in connector of the video monitor (Figure 16). Note: The monitor-out connector is provided only for checking the adjustment of the angular field-of-view on the video monitor when installing or servicing the camera. Make sure that the safety wire is securely hooked on the safety wire holder when adjusting or installing the camera. See Camera installation on page 12. Installation overview To install the camera (Figure 4) you will need to: • Make a hole in the ceiling and fix the camera mount bracket over it. See Mount bracket installation on page 10. • Line up the ends of the cables (power cord, LAN cable, and cable from an external device) and the safety wire, and then bundle them using the cable tie provided. On the Setup menu Basic setup tab, select Not use for About SD memory card. Refer to the User Manual. 3. Remove the dome cover fixing screw, and then detach the dome cover from the main body.
