We hope that this purchase will be the beginning of a lasting and rewarding relationship between you and EdgeStar. This manual contains important information regarding the proper installation, use, and maintenance of your portable air conditioner. Following this manual will ensure that your product will work at its peak performance, efficiency, and safety. EdgeStar AP14001HS, 3 Installing the Carbon Filter Your portable air conditioner ships with a pre-filter and an activated carbon filter. The carbon filter will help remove contaminates and odors from the air. It is recommended that you replace the carbon filter every three to six months, or as needed. It is necessary to clean the pre-filter periodically. Follow the steps below to install the carbon filter. 1. Open the pre-filter panel on the back of the unit. 2. Insert the activated carbon filter between the pre-filter and the unit.
EdgeStar AP14001HS, 4 Window Kit Installation Instructions Window Kit Parts list: 1. Adjust the plastic slider kit to the width or height of your window and tighten the two (2) screws that are attached to the panel. 2. Push the round window adapter through the rear of the plastic slider. Line up the holes and tighten the adapter with four (4) of the included screws. Tighten the screws from the front. 3. Install the plastic window slider kit into the window. If necessary, u
5 Installing the Grated Adapter 1. Insert the round grated adapter through the back grooved side of the window kit plate and into the hole. Note: This unit can be used with one or two vent hoses. The exhaust hose should always be used in cooling and heating (HS
EdgeStar AP14001HS, 6 2. Secure the grated adapter by fastening the screws from the flat side of the window kit plate to the holes on the grated adapter. Installing the Window Plates 3. Open your window and place the window kit on the window sill with the grooved side facing outward. Then slide the window kit plate out to fit the width of the window. You can use screws to secure the window kit plate and keep it from sliding.
7 4. Lower the window to secure the window kit in place. You may need to use duct tape to better secure the window kit. Attaching the Duct Connectors to the Exhaust Hose 5. Notes About the Exhaust Hose Your portable air conditioner is designed to exhaust condensate water that is collected from the air. This water, in either gaseous or droplet form, will be expelled out of the exhaust port of the unit. Please take this into account when deciding how to vent the air conditioner. 1. The exhaust hose supplied with the portable air conditioner can be extended up to 48 inches; however for maximum efficiency, use the shortest length possible. 2. Try
EdgeStar AP14001HS, 10 Control Panel : Set Temperature Display : Timer with Auto On/Off Switch Display : Sleep Pattern Display Power Control The power button turns the unit on or off. Warning Light Condensed water may accumulate in the unit. The Warning light will turn on to indicate that the internal tank is full. The unit will not continue operation until the tank has been drained. Mode Control Press the mode button to cycle between four different modes: Cool, Dehumidify, Fan, and Heating. If the room temperature is higher than 77°F, the fan speed can be adjusted. Otherwise the fan speed will be maintained at “Low.” Fan Mode Air is circulated throughout the room as cooling continues to occur. All key functions can be accessed from the remote control or from the control panel on the unit. Button Function Power This button powers the unit on and off. Speed This button allows you to choose between High, Medium, and Low fan speed. Timer This button allows you to set the unit to automatically turn on or off at a specific time. You can use the “ ” and “ ” buttons to set the timer in one hour increments. Mode Press this button to cycle through the operat

The unit is not receiving power. Make sure the unit is plugged in. The LCDI power cord is tripped. Press the Reset button on the LCDI power cord. There is insufficient power. Set the unit to run in cooling mode, and lower the set temperature. The compressor is not on. The compressor may take up to 3 minutes to turn on, or longer if it is too warm. This is because the labeling on new productions of PAC’s must follow a new federal test standard that was established by the Department of Energy: 10 CFR 430, subpart B, appendix CC. The SACC rating shown on your new PAC is a result of this new standard. Models manufactured before 2017 were tested under a different standard (ASHRAE) that produced a higher cooling capacity output.
