These instructions as well as guidance from your hearing instrument specialist will help you use and care for your ePocket for optimum performance. In this guide, you’ll find information on the operation, features, and changing the battery. In addition, a troubleshooting section is included for your reference. • 4 Description of the ePocket The ePocket uses two AAAA batteries. 1. Key lock 2. Data read out button 3. Program change button 4. Volume up 5. Volume down 6. Accessory ring 7. • Siemens ePocket, 5 Key lock Your ePocket has a key lock on the side, as shown at the left. When engaged, the key lock deactivates the buttons on the ePocket so that accidentally pressing the buttons will not have any effect. This featu- re may be useful when carrying the ePocket in a pocket or purse, for example to avoid undesired changes. Key lock - panel closed To activate the key lock, hold the ePocket as illustrated above and slide the key lock to the right. Although it is very unlikely, another ePocket within operating distance of less than 1 meter (40 inches) could potentially change the settings of your hearing system. Contact your hearing instrument specialist if this occurs. Your ePocket and hearing system can be sent to the manufacturer for a change to resolve this issue if necessary. Note when controlling your instruments audio input with the ePocket: If an audio shoe is attached to one or both of your hearing instruments, the program button on the ePocket or on the instruments c

• Siemens ePocket, You can change the program of your hearing system with the program button on the ePocket. The program button controls your programs, which are arranged in a cycle. Whenever you turn the system off and then on, or the battery is repla- ced, the hearing system will return to Program 1. Each time you press the program button, you move to the next program. The sequence is 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, and so on... Your hearing instrument specialist will program the settings in the different programs for your particular listening needs. 8 Using the program button Your

To read the settings from your hearing system, hold the ePocket slightly in front of one hearing instrument at a distance of 10 centimeters (4 inches) or less. Push the "data read out" button for approximately one second. • Siemens ePocket, 13 Changing the batteries The ePocket is powered by two AAAA batteries. The ePocket display will indicate that you need to change the batteries when the symbol at the left is displayed. To change the batteries, gently pull down the cover of the ePocket battery compartment until it is opened. Insert two batteries as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -) marked inside the compartment. Always use new batteries when replacing dead batteries. Never mix old and new batteries. Return dead batteries to your hearing instrument specialist for proper disposal. If you won’t be using your ePocket for an extended period time, remove the batteries. Batteries may leak. Batteries must not be swallowed. - To avoid damage from possible battery leakage, remove the batteries if you do not plan to use the ePocket for an extended period of time. - Do NOT throw away your dead batteries! Do NOT attempt to dispose of batteries by burning them. Return them to your hearing instrument specialist for proper, environ- mentally conscious disposal. - Do NOT place batteries in your mouth. • 15 Tips for using your ePocket The ePocket can be operated discretely from a pocket or purse to control your hearing system. By pressing the "data read out” button for 3 - 4 seconds the display of the ePocket will be lit. Press and hold the program button of the ePocket for more than 3 seconds to change your hearing system to its basic settings. Use the "cover” (see "Accesso

• Siemens ePocket, 16 Accessories Your ePocket is equipped with an accessory ring, which allows you to attach it to your keys or purse. Other accesso- ries include: Clip The clip allows you to attach your ePocket to your belt. Cover The cover protects your ePocket from damage that can be caused by scratches or water splashes. If it is, deactivate it • Change the batteries • If trying to use the display feature, move the ePocket closer to the hearing system or change position slightly • Move away from electro-magnetic noise sources • Shorten the distance between your hearing system and your ePocket and try it again • Make sure to hold the “data read out” button for one full second within 10 centimenters (4 inches) of your hearing system • Check to see if you’re near an electro-magnetic noise source that may interfere wit
