ENCAD NovaCut 24, NovaCut User's Guide 2-30 Getting Started If pressing TEST displays the menu below, the printer is in Cutting mode. In this case, switch to PAUSE status and then select Print mode. CUTTING TEST 1> CUTTING TEST 2> 2 Press F4 (PRIME TEST) to start the print test. A test pattern prints. The test pattern consists of bands of each color from the cartridges, and a series of sloping lines. Each line segment represents one jet in the cartridge. Position this roller within its yellow seal so that it is approxi- mately centered between the right and left pinch rollers. (It's a good idea to record the group number and parameters for later reference.) 3 Press the Cutting condition button. Compressing the bulb may force air back into the cartridge, causing loss of negative pressure. 5 Make sure the suction bulb is making good contact with the jet area. Release the pressure on the suction bulb so it draws ink through the jet area of the cartridge. If you don't see ink in the jet area, repeat the process. Gently blot the nozzle with a lint-free cloth. Note: Do not turn the cartridge upside down as air inside the cartridge may

In addition, you should wipe any areas of the printer exposed to ink and the print shaft using a lint-free cloth moistened with water. Note: Do not lubricate the slide shaft!
