CAUTION: Do not allow persons to operate Backup Power Unit until they have read this manual and have developed a thorough understanding of how the unit works. NPower 14714, 4 · Do not use this product wherever there are flammable fumes or gases, such as in the bilge of a gasoline-powered boat or near propane tanks. · Do not use this product in an enclosure containing automotive-type lead-acid batteries. · These batteries, unlike the sealed AGM battery in the Backup Power System, vent explosive hydrogen gas which can be ignited by sparks from electrical connections. · When working on electrical equipment, always ensure someone is nearby to aid you in case of an emergency. NPower 14714, 5 · Remove personal metal items such as rings, bracelets, necklaces and watches when working with batteries. Batteries produce a short-circuit current high enough to weld a ring or other similar objects to metal, causing a severe burn. · If you need to remove a battery, always remove the positive terminal from the battery first. Make sure all accessories are off to avoid risk of hazard. · Use safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields which comply with current national standards, or when needed, a face shield. When the unit is on, it simultaneously can charge itself and provide backup power while connected to the utility. · NOTE: when the unit is turned off, it will not provide power through the f

11 TROUBLESHOOTING Error codes If the products connected to the Backup Power System do not operate and the alarm is sounding, check the Backup Power System LED screen for an error code. NPower 14714, 13 WARRANTY One-Year Limited Warranty Northern Tool + Equipment warrants this product for one year limited against any defects in materials or workmanship. The defective products will be replaced and repaired at no charge in either of one year. This warranty lasts for 12 months from the date of purchase at the point of sale to you. This warranty does not apply where the product has been misused, improperly installed, physically damaged or altered, either internally or externally, or damaged from improper use.
