Introduction Overview TalkMate™ is an optional module of the PagePac ® 20 voice paging system and is designed to fit under the PowerMate™ module. The physical characteristics of PowerMate and TalkMate are listed in Table 1-A. PagePac 20 is a 20-watt telephone-integrated voice paging system designed for use with most PBX and key telephone systems. PagePac 20 provides voice paging from host system telephones over speakers connected to the PagePac 20. The basic PagePac 20 paging system consists of a PowerMate module and speakers (Figure 1-1). This system provides one-way paging into a single paging zone. PowerMate provides both voice coil and

Installation Overview This section provides installation and connection instructions for the TalkMate. TalkMate Installation and Connections If you are connecting TalkMate to an operating PowerMate, it will be necessary to turn off PowerMate and disconnect power, speaker cables, and the page input cord that connects to host communications system. Start at step 1 below. If you are installing PowerMate and TalkMate at the same time, refer to the PowerMate Service Manual f

Plug remaining speaker cables into PowerMate jack J4 and/or J5 as appropriate. Note: The Y-connectors provided with the system may be used as necessary to provide additional speaker outputs. Refer to the PowerMate manual for more information on speaker installation and hookup. Plug PowerMate power cord into a 120V AC, 60 Hz outlet. Turn PowerMate MUSIC VOLUME control clockwise to 1. The POWER indicator will light. Set music volume to the desired level with the PowerMate MUSIC VOLUME control. If music is not provided, set control to 1.
