Power Management Without user activity, the display goes to dim in 7 minutes, screen off in 8 minutes and sleep mode in 30 minutes (default timeouts). Based upon individual user activity, Chrome OS tries to optimize these timeouts. Therefore, users may find that the actual timeouts vary slightly from the default timeouts listed above.
